Experience faced during Lockdown
Quarantine | A very fancy word for a state/period/place of isolation in which people or animals that have arrived from elsewhere (Wuhan in this case) or been exposed to infectious or contagious disease are placed.
Being a working professional from the last 8 years, I have spent my days in meeting rooms defining strategies for our clients on how they can achieve benefits (read saving dollars) with our service offerings. There were times, when I have rushed through mad traffic hours of Gurgaon, skipping breakfast almost 4 times a week, taking calls while on the go. Well, I guess that’s how life is.
But one thought that always lingered on was how to make my day more productive to achieve a much-needed personal space which by the way was further divided into time to be spent with my baby and then my own time. Being an avid reader, reading took a backseat and like a doting mother I gave in to whims and fancies of my daughter. Seeing her smile when I was back home from a long day or dance sessions ranging from Katy Perry to Punjabi numbers or our bedtime stories, that’s how I found my solace in her happiness. Yes, I secretly wished having 48 hours a day to tick off things from my to-do list.
This quarantine, however, has given us a lot of time, maybe more than we ever asked for .... Time to introspect, time to indulge into forgotten hobbies, time to take a nap or listen to your fav. music, time to take a break from the daily rush to reach office, time to pause and play with your kid, time to do whatever you always wanted to do or time to be unproductive and do nothing at all.
I am using this time to tick off few gems from my reading list and spending a lot of time with my kid and family which is ultimately showing results as I am much more calm and composed throughput the day keeping my anxiety issues at bay.
So, use this time, for yourself to come our healthier, stronger and happier than ever. I wish everyone comes out safe and we stay thankful to God for food, shelter, family and loved ones around us.
